ABOUT OUR CLUB 


We are a incorporated non-profit organization which is lead by a volunteer-based board of directors. 


Meetings are held monthly, except for the summer months of July and August, on the third Friday of each month.

Meetings are held from 7pm to approximately 9pm depending on speaker presentations, normally a short club business section then the presentation.  Presentations cover a wide range of topics from Opal mining in Australia to making mosaics to jewellery wrapping to mining Herkimer diamonds, come to a meeting and enjoy being entertained, everyone is welcome to come check us out.   Meetings are held in-person at the T.B. Costain/S.C. Johnson Community Centre at 16 Morell St., Brantford Ontario or via Zoom meetings.


The Telephone City Crystal, our newsletter, is published January through to June then from September to December and will be emailed to all current members and will be available on our website.  Our Newsletters cover a wide range of topics from local minerals and collecting sites to Canadian and World collecting site, how to articles, member trips and so much more.


Our workshop is located at the Braeside Camp just outside of Paris Ontario. Open to both members and non-members, the First visit is free for members as well as non-members and other members of clubs under the CCFMS umbrella.


Our Spring Gem and Mineral show is an annual event held in early April at the Paris Fairgrounds.  It is always very well attended with many local vendors as well as vendors from across Ontario and the country, even few from the USA.  Everything is available under one roof, Jewellery, Specimens, Fossils, interactive displays for children like the great mining adventure, discovering fossil fish with the University of Waterloo.  Club displays and demonstrations and a silent auction you can pick up amazing deals, the Silent auction is held as an outlet for members to sell their specimens, finished items and anything else related to our hobby.


Membership yearly fees are $30 for individuals or $35 for a family and are active from the beginning of January to the end of December.   New members are always welcome, come out to one of our meetings and check us out, or make your first visit to our workshop and see how you enjoy the experience.  Please note until further notice all covid-19 protocols must be adhered to, for your safety and others.



MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

  2. Access to Monthly Meetings either in-person or via zoom, where informative guest speakers will present interesting talks on mineral related topics.

  6. Also benefit from the many seasoned Rockhounds in the club and the many years of knowledge they have.


If you wish to join our club, whether your new to rock hounding or a seasoned expert, everyone is welcome.

Memberships are $30 for individuals or $35 for a family per year.
